The power of a poem
To make someone cry out
Whether in fear or exultation
With a few mere words

The power of a poem
Watch them sway with the rhythm
Of your written rhyme
You can send them crashing to the floor
Or set them gently down without a sound

To bring to life what is in the heart
Using words as your imagery
You bare your soul upon paper
Your most precious thoughts are open to all
You who sits timidly to the side
Have the power of a poem.
